It’s the first week of August… this can sometimes feel as if the hourglass of Summer is running low – grains of sand that were falling monotonously have now picked up speed and are slipping away at an alarming rate. But, don’t you fret – there’s still plenty of those classic “Summer” activities to enjoy in Boston over the entirety of August – and better yet, they’re all free!
If your Summer work week still feels like you don’t have a moment to yourself besides getting a quick workout at the gym, cooking dinner or lazing around on your phone– then let a Friday night “out” be your relief!
Each Friday of August at the Hatch Shell come and enjoy a Friday night movie for free! Sit back and relax on a blanket with some friends, family, a significant other, or just ride solo. Enjoy the Boston skyline and the breeze off the Charles while you settle in under the skyscraper lights. Nothing like seeing the “stars” of Hollywood and beyond!
Now if you’re looking to see some real stars in the sky then the Coit Observatory has you covered! Let yourself go starry-eyed and check out Coit Observatory on clear-skied Wednesday nights at ~8:30pm – advanced tickets are recommended, but don’t worry it’s all free! Keep in mind that the Museum of Science also offers a similar experience with their Astronomy After Hours, be sure to check that out as well!
There are so many great activities for free in Boston during August this Summer – make sure to take advantage because soon enough the city will be buried in a white blanket for the winter and you’ll always have these summer weather memories to bundle yourself up in!
