Hi! Hope everyone’s summer is filled with amazing memories and activities so far! Whether you are in Boston for a relaxing vacation or hustling through your new job/internship- here are 5 must try tapas restaurants that are suitable for any occasion
Barcelona Wine Bar - South Boston & Brookline
Favorite Items ♡ : House Sangria, Seafood Paella, Jamon & Manchego Croquette, & Beef Tartare
Cynthia’s Take: Barcelona Wine Bar is one of my personal favorites in Boston. It’s a great place to sit down with a bunch of friends on a nice relaxing evening. They have a large selection of tapas that pair really well with their house sangria (highly recommend). The interior of the restaurant is dimly lit with an amazing rustic yet industrial feel. This one is definitely a staff favorite among all Verb Employees!
Little Donkey - Cambridge
Favorite Items ♡ : Miso Risotto, BLT Lettuce Wraps, Raw Bar, & “The One in a Grapefruit” cocktail (Yes! It does comes in a grapefruit!)
Cynthia’s Take: If you’re looking for non-traditional tapas - Little Donkey is the way to go. They take tapas to a new level by incorporating various cuisines into their menu. You can get a little taste of everything, from Asian to Spanish flavors, Little Donkey is your go-to global tapas restaurant.
Citrus and Salt- South Boston
Favorite Items ♡ : Dole Whip & Citrus Cured Salmon Tostadas
Cynthia’s Take: For all the people looking for the most aesthetically pleasing, Instagram worthy restaurant to take pictures in- Citrus and Salt is for you! The interior of the restaurant is simply to die for. The baby pink interior with string lights adds a romantic yet refreshing feel to the restaurant. It’s a great place for a cute date or a girl’s night.
You won’t want to miss the cheeky decals on the bathroom mirrors, they make for very fun selfies!
**Pro Tip: Always call ahead and make a reservation! The place is always packed even on a Tuesday evening. **
PURO Ceviche- Newbury St.
Favorite Items ♡ : Calamares Fritos (Calamari) & Pescado (Fish) Tacos
Cynthia’s Take: This is my favorite casual tapas restaurant on Newbury. I usually come here after a day of shopping around the Newbury/Prudential area. I enjoy the casual and “cool” vibe of the restaurant. I’ve tried a decent amount of the items on the menu and consistently the food that I’ve ordered has been great, but its hard to keep up with their constantly rotating menu! Definitely a place to stop by if you are on Newbury Street.
Audubon Bar - Fenway
Favorite Items ♡ : The French Girl Cocktail, Taco Tuesdays, & Mac n Cheese Monday
Cynthia’s Take: Audubon Bar not only serves amazing food during the day, but is also a great place to great drinks after work! My coworker and I actually stopped by after work on a Monday and for major mac n cheese lovers like us, it was delicious! They encourage you to customize your own mac n cheese with various toppings from your traditional chicken and broccoli to tortilla chips or even a Cool Ranch Dorito crumb for those brave enough to try it. I really enjoy how they are constantly changing their menu so there are always new things to try for both drinks and food! Make sure you check out their hidden patio on a nice day. Surrounded in bamboo plants and string lights, you’ll find it hard to believe you are in the middle of the busy Fenway neighborhood.
