What a cool place!

What a place!!!
We stayed at the Verb for 8 nights in June and we absolutely loved it! As soon as we arrived we were offered complimentary water & coffee. This is available all the time. We were early so they stored our luggage and we got a text to say our room was ready.
We have a wee boy called Phoenix so he loved the sign at reception, the vibes are just so cool.

We were in Boston for the World Cup and the Verb was definitely a highlight of our 3 week trip. It was so handy for everywhere. We marched with the Tartan Army to Fenway then into the bar for a wee singsong, it was just amazing. Great atmosphere.

The rooms are so cool, with vinyl and a record player. Our two boys didn’t know what it was (how old are we??) but they loved it. The pool was amazing and just a fab, friendly place to be.

We loved Boston and absolutely loved the Verb!!!!

My new go-to hotel in Boston

Finding hotels at reasonable rates during the FIFA World Cup was difficult, but I'm lucky to have come across the Verb. The location in the Back Bay was awesome. Boston is one of those cities where hotel location doesn't really matter if you are mobile, so it was about a 25-minute walk to Newbury Street and a 15-minute walk to Northeastern University. It's also right next to Fenway if you plan to see a Red Sox game.

The hotel is simply FUN. Retro with funky colors, but kept modern and pretty. The rooms all have record players, so you can grab vinyls in the lobby to play. The constantly available water bottles and coffee on tap were a godsend in the summer heat. The attached restaurant is delicious, and the staff were incredibly kind. We forgot toothpaste, and a front desk worker ran it over in a couple of minutes. Brooks, in particular, made booking an absolute breeze.

The rooms were impeccably clean. I even saw housekeeping pull out and clean the backside of the in-room fridge.

I would 100% stay here again on my next trip to Boston. It's just good fun while still offering you 4-star luxuries, like Malin + Goetz toiletries. The only suggestion I have for the hotel is to offer a protein-rich breakfast option, such as omelets. We are all on GLP-1s now and need more protein, lol.

Definitely give this hotel a shot. It's an excellent value as long as you are okay with walking or taking the T around the city.

Loved this hotel and all the extra touches

Free hot and cold brew coffee and water all day in the lobby was nice. We used the records in our room which was fun for our kiddo that had never seen a record player. This location was great after the game. Every person we met here was really nice and friendly. We would definitely stay here again.

3 nights at The Verb with the Tartan Army

Polly and I loved our 3-night stay at the Verb. Great room, great staff, and perfect location. The eclectic vibe brought back memories of the 1990’s Boston music scene. We shared our vacation with the Tartan Army, 50,000+ passionately patriotic Scottish Soccer Fans here for the World Cup. Some highlights include following a bagpipe parade down Landsdowne Street, the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, the Fenway Park Tour & Polly’s 1st Red Sox game. We loved the GF restaurant scene — including a great onsite restaurant and can’t wait to come back!

Exceeded expectation; LOVED our stay!!!

The Verb Hotel in Boston exceeded my expectations! Yes, the room rates were definitely inflated because of the World Cup, but the experience made it worthwhile.

This fun, upbeat boutique hotel has a unique personality, with music-themed touches throughout and even a record player in every room. The pool area was lively and inviting, the complimentary breakfast was excellent, and the staff provided friendly, attentive service throughout our stay.

The location couldn’t be better—perfect for enjoying Boston and catching events at nearby Fenway Park. If you’re looking for a hotel with character, energy, and a great atmosphere, I highly recommend The Verb. It’s a niche boutique hotel that delivers a memorable experience!

An awesome experience for a short stay!

In all honesty, I chose to stay at this hotel with a colleague after our business trip to be within walking distance from Fenway park. I didn’t realize that my stay would be so memorable here for only 1 night! The immersive experience of this hotel making you feel like a roadie was top notch. I believe the front desk receptionist name was Star, apologies if that’s incorrect because I want to shout her out. The 5-10 minutes I interacted with her were better than the entire week of service we received running a business event at a fellow Marriott hotel in Waltham! Big kudos to this staff for playing the role well for this cool hotel.

Fantastic stay!

My sister and I stayed here on Sunday, May 10th to attend a concert at House of Blues. The property is so cool! From check-in to check-out, our experience was spectacular. Those we'd like to recognize specially that made our stay fantastic are: Julian, Cisco,
Carley, and Kelsie. This was our first time here and we will definitely be back! Thank you so much. You absolutely ROCK!! :)

Chosen for location, remembered for so much more!

This former Howard Johnson’s has a lot going for it. It’s a stone’s throw from Fenway, which is why we originally chose it. But there is so much more going on here! The music theming is amazing, and my teenage sons couldn’t get enough of the vinyl library and turntable in every room. The complimentary breakfast was well staffed each morning by Yoselin and Daniela, who were both friendly and attentive. The housekeeping staff was omnipresent- and by that I mean they were always ready to help and always striving for the best conditions for their establishment. Shout out to Crisela from housekeeping!
The front desk staff were 5 star professionals as well. Whether they were fixing record player needles, chatting up my son about Michael Jackson, or trying to find him an MJ album to take back to the room, these folks happily focused on making everyone in our family comfortable and happy. Special thanks to JD and Mackenzie!
Lastly, the restaurant and bar are fun and full of good things to eat and drink! If we ever have a reason to go back to Boston, this will be our place!

Best Hotel Ever!!

My daughters and I recently stayed at The Verb Hotel, and it was absolutely fabulous in every way. We traveled to Boston to visit universities where my daughter has been accepted, and our experience at the hotel made the trip even more memorable.

Front Desk Producer, JD Zeeb was especially helpful both when I called ahead with questions and throughout our stay. He generously offered a discount in honor of my daughter’s acceptance to Boston University and let me know that return guests receive 15% off—an excellent example of meaningful customer appreciation. His friendliness, professionalism, and attention to detail truly stood out!

We were also grateful for the wonderful valet team (the “Road Crew”), especially Keya and Cisco, who were consistently kind and helpful. Keya even made sure we stayed warm while waiting for our car on a chilly morning, which was such a thoughtful touch.

We also appreciated the late-night assistance when our sink wasn't draining!

Breakfast each day was another highlight, thanks to Yoselin and Amalia, who kept everything running smoothly and created a welcoming start to our mornings. The smoothies were delicious!

The Verb is a uniquely vibrant and memorable place to stay. Our room was comfortable and thoughtfully designed, and I especially loved the record player and access to such an incredible vinyl collection. After long days of walking, the heated pool was a perfect surprise—more of a warm oasis than we ever expected.

We truly loved every aspect of our stay and didn’t want to leave. I highly recommend The Verb Hotel to anyone visiting Boston—you won’t be disappointed. We’re already looking forward to returning, hopefully when my daughter chooses Boston University! Many Thanks to all of you amazing humans at The Verb Hotel!!

Repeatedly Amazing

Love staying at this place! Perfect location if you are attending a concert or other event, the bar/restaurant has such chill vibes, and the rooms are comfy and clean! Cisco and Keya are 2 of their Valets who are TOP TIER and they make sure I'm always taken care of from start to finish! Jake at the front desk is also phenomenal and always makes sure I have a room that fits my accessibility needs, which is SO important when I travel ♿ See you all again soon!

This place ROCKS!!!

This was such a wonderful experience. The hotel was packed with so many wonderful treats. The memorabilia was so amazing!! We were transformed into this amazing time zone of rock and rock, blues, jazz, and amazing artists!
They thought of every little touch to wow you and make you feel at home at the same time.
The moment you arrive, you are greeted by warm welcoming, friendly faces that just make you feel like you are just where you are meant to be. The staff is so helpful and kind.
My son loved the typewriter in the room, he was hoping that there was ribbon so he could actually type something, but he loved it anyway, along with the retro clock and telephone. The records, the selection of records and then the record player in the room that worked made him so happy! (You have records to choose from in the lobby, that you can bring back to your room to listen to.)
If you are into music and retro memorabilia, this place is awesome!
The beds are so comfortable, and the rooms are very clean. There also is an outdoor pool, which we did not use.
Although The Verb has a retro feel, the amenities are definitely up to date and rocking!!
I wish we had more time to stay, we only had one night, but we will be back, for longer. We grabbed breakfast, which was included, before we had to go, it was a nice grab and go. They also made fresh waffles, hard boiled eggs, with lots of pastries and fruit to choose from as well.
We aren't into baseball or huge fans so I didn't realize at first, but the hotel is literally right around the corner from Fenway Park. Red Socks fans! ❤️
We didn't bring a car, but they do offer parking for guests.
We took the T which was just a short five minute walk to the Kenmore station.
I took my 15 year old son who was enthralled with the hotel. He loves music and everything retro, so this was so far up his alley that he was on cloud nine.

For musicians at heart

Me and my partner stayed over in Boston for a night for a concert and verb was a great place to stay. The hotel itself is extremely interesting, with music memorabilia lining the halls, a heated pool, vinyl players in the rooms and instruments in the lobby, if you’re into music, it’s definitely a place to see. Mackenzie at the front desk was lovely, professional and helpful, making the experience easy and pleasant. A few other things to note is the free buffet style breakfast, its close proximity to the T making travel quick, and the level of cleanliness.

FREAKING AWESOME!

This place is freaking awesome! From the minute we pulled into the driveway we were treated like ROCK STARS! What an experience! This place is a gem. Such a tribute to the Boston music scene. It's like a rock and roll museum. The room was WHITE GLOVE clean. So retro! The vibe was amazing! The turntable in the room and the library of lps at the front desk made this such a fun experience and a trip down memory lane. They supplied us with plush Verb robes which we wore to the 95 degree heated salt water pool. Nitro coffee and a delicious breakfast the next morning!! I just can't say enough and CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK!! Every person on staff we encountered were so upbeat and treated us like old friends! Next time your in town I can't recommend this place enough!!

Mackenzie rocks! And staying at the Verb, good times never seemed so good!

My family and I enjoy taking trips up to Boston, especially when we can catch some Red Sox games. The last time we were in Boston, we walked past the Verb and had said it looked like a fun place to stay, especially how close it is to Fenway. Also, our neighbors had recently stayed at the Verb and said how amazing the place was, and they highly recommended it.
Well, as we planned our trip for Labor Day weekend, we decided to give the Verb a try, and so glad we did! If you’re a fan of music, you’ll love the Verb. The atmosphere had a fun vibe to it, and my son loved all the rock memorabilia throughout the place. We also loved that there was a record player in our room! Each room had about 5 albums, but the lobby had a bunch more that you could switch out. Being from Jersey, both my wife and son went straight to the ‘S’ section to try and find some Brrruuuuccccce. Unfortunately, we were out of luck. We had ask Mackenzie at the front desk if they had any Bruce albums and she said they do, but its likely someone had it in the room already but would keep an eye out for us. After coming back from one of the Red Sox games, we were pleasantly surprised to see Bruce’s “Nebraska’ album waiting for us in our room, with a nice handwritten note from Mackenzie and some swag as well!
The rooms were clean, spacious, and up to date. Although the hotel itself felt a bit dated, it did fit the hotel’s theme. It feels like you could be backstage of a local concert venue. They even give you your room card like they’re backstage passes. They also have nitro-brew coffee on tap (hot and cold) all day long.
But what made our stay stand out is the staff! They were all very friendly, accommodating and went above-and-beyond to make our stay amazing.
After our stay, I think we’ve found our new hotel spot when we make our trips to Boston. Its right behind Fenway, there are a lot of options for food in the area, and walking distance to Back Bay.
I think next time we go, we'll have to reserve their Tour Bus suites.

What a pleasant surprise!
The Verb was a unique surprise from the moment we arrived at the parking lot to the time we left. The hotel was immaculate, the staff second to none. Professional, efficient, accommodating and personable. Definitely a special place to return again and again. Our new go to hotel in Boston. Privately owned not corporate and it shows! LOVE IT! Two floors but the corridors are long. If you need any accommodations for mobility the staff was very helpful. If you like music, it’s your place. Record players in all rooms with a great selection of vinyl.

Music, Memories & Fenway Fun – The Verb Hits All the Right Notes!

We stayed at The Verb Hotel for a mother-daughter getaway, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish! The music-inspired vibe was an absolute hit with our girls. From the lobby filled with guitars and a fantastic vinyl collection to the nostalgic décor and laid-back energy, everything felt thoughtfully curated and fun.

The coffee bar—with cold brew on tap—was a much-appreciated perk, and our room was spotless, stylish, and carried the theme beautifully, complete with our own record player. The only small downside was the shower setup—a half-glass door made it tricky to keep the water contained.

The pool is on the smaller side, but the lush greenery and vibrant ambiance surrounding it made it a relaxing place to unwind. One unexpected highlight was hearing the roar of the Fenway crowd after a Red Sox score while lounging by the pool—such a fun and unique touch!

The location is absolutely prime if you’re visiting Fenway. And don’t miss the Japanese restaurant next door—we loved it so much, we went back for a second meal. Truly delicious.

And the staff? HANDS DOWN AMAZING. Every single person we encountered was warm, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was memorable.

We also loved the thoughtful extras like complimentary water bottles and umbrellas—proof that no detail is overlooked at The Verb. Can’t wait to come back!

Phenomenal. That's it.

Gerry the night manager is a rockstar. When I booked he asked any special occasion, told him treating myself to celebrate promotion. I was greeted by staff at check in with a "congrats on your promotion Lisa!", he took into account and accommodated my many asks to a T. I literally felt like I was a VIP rockstar. The staff, amenities, pool, cleanliness top notch all the way around. Very unique and memorable experience.

Rock On: We'll Be Back!

The highest compliment I can think of for a hotel is wanting to go back! The Verb is a funky place to stay, especially if you like rock and roll, in a great location. The hotel is clean, the pool was great, we loved the restaurant for lunch and breakfast. Shout outs to breakfast attendants, Yodelin and Daniela, for the great cinnamon waffles and service with smiles!

A great place to stay in Boston; GF and Vegan friendly.

A really fun place for rock and roll fans, especially, with vinyl you can borrow and play in your room, rock memorabilia everywhere, a really nice heated pool and a really wonderful breakfast with solid vegan and gluten free options -- a rarity. The very attentive breakfast attendants, Mirian A and Yoselin A, did a great job of making us feel welcome and made delicious vegan smoothies and gf waffles for us.
